As for the numerous comments about cigarette butts...OMG. There is a long light at a major intersection in my town and hundreds upon hundreds of butts pile up there, guess the light is long enough for a quick smoke followed by a quick toss out the window. All the salespeople at one job would smoke together in the stairwell (thought they were hiding in a totally nonsmoking building) and just leave their butts on the landing, so it was filthy AND smelled even worse than their smoking itself (which was bad enough).
I could MAYBE partially forgive tossing a butt if it was just paper and tobacco as those should break down quickly...but, those filters surely take years to crumble.
