Yes, I was trying to say that, without coming out and saying it. But, there's no point in sidestepping the issue when there's a preferable product from the same company at the same price on the same shelf.

VW recommends once a year / 15,000km intervals, however, my commute is under five minutes and oil temps don't even hit 50 degrees celsius. I'll never hit the mileage interval so I'm wondering if I should change every six months or will once a year be enough?

Also looking for what oil I should run, manual recommends 5w30 / 5w40.

Thanks!

OP I thought I'd post the current VW/Audi Approved Spec sheet here.

If it specs vw502 then low saps isn't necessary. I believe anything that specs like 504 or 505 is where a low saps is required. But idk what his car specs either.

The EA888 2.0 specifies VW 502.00, 503.00 or 504.00, in 5w30, 5w40 or appropriate grade. Why anyone would use a low HTHS oil like 503.00 in one of these is beyond me.

505.00 is high-SAPS diesel specs.
