That has been in use for race qualifying for a good while now... 0w oil for race qualifying actually has been going on for at least the last 10 years. If not even a bit longer than that. I remember hearing guys calling NASCAR qualifying talking about running 0w oils ten years ago. Larry Mc Reynolds brought it up in fact.

Yes, RP and others have similar things. Valvoline's naming procedure for it is pretty honest, with a name not invoking much of anything from SAE J300, since it's clearly not meant to be exchangeable with an ordinary 0w-16 or 0w-20.
