Miles, miles and more miles!

1995 Olds Cutlass Supreme SL 2 dr: 215,000 mi., 3.4 L DOHC V6, PYB 10w40. Transmission failure. Still had original radiator, water pump, hoses, thermostat and green coolant. Occasionally have a dream I still own it. Was my all time favorite.

2004 Cavalier: 238,000 miles, 2.2 L ecotec, VWB, Synpower, Maxlife, PP, TropArtic. Very few repairs other than heater core. Still running and driving when traded. Good MPG

2011 Cruze (current DD): 204,000 miles, 1.4 L turbo, QSUD then M1 HM. Ign coil replaced at about 15k. Water pump at 40k and 80k. Valve cover at about 180,000. Original turbo (although I ignore CEL for turbo underboost). Original friggin brakes!! Only bought one set of tires for it so far.

All were bought used with low miles.

1994 Olds 98 with the supercharged 3800, died at 330000 kms or 205000 miles due to a coolant leak (with my son at the wheel), on his way to university. Was a great car, served us for many years.

Only actually went to 200k miles in one vehicle, last one.

2003 Mazda Tribute V-6. Bought with 106k miles, drove to almost exactly 200k miles.

Cost a fortune to get there, def. not worth it, should have junked it much earlier.

Will absolutely be taking the Soul to over 200k miles, can't afford not to!

Ex's 2004 Jeep Wrangler had 215,000 on the clock when a part in the (manual) transmission failed, locking the gearset. Sold to a Jeep guy.

Up to that it was normal maintenance except for a head gasket at 168k and a clutch at 195k.

1987 Mustang GT T-top, 338,000Km when I wrote the car off (210,000 miles)
1989 Lincoln Town Car, 330,000Km when I gave it to a friend (205,000 miles)
2002 Ford Expedition, 300,000Km when we sold it, still going (186,400 miles)

200K isn't all that much and we've had a few such cars.
Everything depends upon maintenance.
Give any car the maintenance it needs and it should give you 200K without any major problems, although you'll see some little ones after the design life of 150K.

Wrote off from an accident or old age/miles? I always liked those cars quite a bit back in the day.

2004 Honda Accord ---it had a Diet of Amsoil -0w30--SSO and TEXAS REFINERY 5W30

V6 AUTO TRANS-- SOLD IT AT 298,000 was still a great car. Was sad to sell it.

Because I was living in an area with lots of deer and had hit a deer with my Ford Tempo (Previous car to this one) and I thought this would at least give the the vehicle a chance to survive if I hit another one.

They were strong bars mounted to the frame. So much so when I got rear ended in this vehicle at 80km/hr and I ran into a Caravan the bars bent slightly and the end of the Caravan I hit was destroyed.

The Tempo was written off and I spent 2 days in hospital when that happened because I ended up spinning out, landed in the ditch upside down and blacked out. Next thing I knew I woke up in the Ambulance on the way to the hospital.

That sounds like a reasonable explanation.

But please tell me, did they add an extra e making it a "santa fee?"

Don't charge Santa a fee in ur Santa fee

If you look up "Hyundai Sante Fe logo" on Google you will see the thing you see as an extra E is actually something else.

I ended up replacing the front lower balljoints, all 4 struts/springs (though the front ones were fine, I figured it was a matter of time as the back ones were shot), the rear brake pads/rotors and the front rotors were warped. I also replaced the battery, tires, front o2 sensor, pcv valve, and did an ATF drain/refill. I had CV axle snap on me unexpectedly while out of town with no warning....

Hopefully someone GAVE you this car with 571,000 miles on it. Can't imagine buying a car with that many miles then putting that much work into it. ???

1985 Ford Escort 2.0 diesel. 300k. Head gasket replaced and two starters. Two timing belts replaced.

1984 Ford Tempo 2.0 diesel. Sold when it had 140K. Head Gasket and timing belt, rack unit.

1990 Ford Tempo. Sold when it had 140K. Starter, one front wheel bearing, one front strut, one fuel pump.

1991 Ford Ranger 3.0 with 354K. Shocks, U-Joints, rear trans seal, exhaust system, etc.

1996 Mercury GM. Traded in with 218K. Replaced plastic intake manifold, front shock absorbers, two or three sensors.

2007 Ford Focus with 175K when totaled this past June. Replaced one motor mount, swaybar link ends, and front struts, and two alternators and one engine thermostat.

At present my 2007 Ford Fusion with 214K. Replaced one front strut, two sensors related to the emission system, two water pumps and one engine thermostat.

This doesn't include things like brake pads, rotors, a couple of calipers, plugs, two fuel pumps, etc.

All engines performed very well with no oil related failures. All engines had 10K OCIs using a Varity of M1 engine oils, M1 ATF, M1 gear lube, and M1 grease.

All engines prior to the 1985 Escort were sold with less than 120K miles were accumulated.

The Festiva has 256k on it.. dad bought it was 80k back in 98. I'll drive it till the back suspension decides it wants to live life on it's own. Just maintenance items and can still get over 40mpg.

Heh Heh, my first '88 528e, the Borman 6 was purchased in '96 with 149.5 K miles on it. I retired it with 350 K Miles in '08. The engine, trans and rear end were never touched. I used dino 20w50 and STP filters. In that span, I maintained it in my driveway to the point where I never had a breakdown on the road. In all I've had 5 528es. 3 '88s and a pair of '86s. All of them required maintenance only. Most done in my driveway. All were retired in the late 200K range.
