Well, the dude on Speed717 only has 600K subscribers and doesn't get millions of views like some channels. He's out buying houses and $250K exotic sports cars, cars for his Mom and girlfriend, spending tons of money on car mods, etc. Like said, he showed his earnings in one of his videos and he's being sent about $500K a year in earnings from his channel by YouTube, regardless of how much he spends trying to support his channel.

I've got about 60 subscribers. Where my fiddy dollars?

Depends on total number of views, although YouTube has changed a lot of their rules lately for monetizing videoes. Channels that have a lot of subscribes will typically get a lot of views.

There have been a few highly veiwed videos on channels that have hardly any subscribers. But some of those videos had many millions of views. From a Google search, the record YouTube video for number of views is:

Korean rapper Psy's music video for his viral hit "Gangnam Style" holds the title of YouTube's most viewed video ever at over 2.2 billion views since its release on July 15, 2012.

If YouTube payed their going rate of around $7.50 per 1000 views (per article linked earlier), that video alone would make 16.5 million dollars.

You Tube appears to be trying to push gun channels out or off. They made some major change a few months back regarding payments, and lately they have been hammering long standing popular channels for "violations".

Many of the well known contributors are moving to "Full30.com".

Once again mainstream law abiding gun owners are being villianized while criminals run amuck.

Yeah, so much for the freedom of speech talk the YouTube CEO/founder gave awhile back. People love freedom of speech, when it is what they want to hear.
