Getting any money for close to nothing in a lottery is a win in my book.

A few mil would probably be low key around here. Really, it depends on how you flash it around (although apparently a $100k pickup truck is just "average" now). One could keep much of it under wraps and just travel. Although if you retire before 60 I suspect it's assumed that you're loaded.

I retired at 59 1/2 and I'm far from loaded . And I think everybody knows it .

Ending up with $433M means taking the cash payment, around half. So the IRS got a huge amount but not over $800M.

I think there are two choices:

Enough that you could pay someone to mange your finances/taxes etc. that would be £10 million plus

Enough to be comfortable and manage it yourself, in which case I wouldn't want more than £2 million.
