I guarantee that power company linemen have to be out in super cold conditions when there's a mass power outage. Or people who work in healthcare have to be there even when the weather is very bad... I stayed at the hospital I worked at overnight before Hurricane Irene came up the coast. Slept in an ER stretcher. Kept the rails up thank goodness. It was 3 and a half feet off the floor. The other guy who was staying overnight as well.. he fell out and hit the floor at 5 am. He hit a ton. Kind of funny though. I told him he should have kept those rails up.
