Do you warn drivers of a speed trap with your headlights?

I used to but I don't anymore,
I figure if there going to fast they deserve a ticket. What does the BITOG folks think?

I realize in some states it's illegal to do so.
Looked it up, and here in Ma. it states, (it's technically not forbidden).

Sure do!

I remember when I was a kid and my mom would do it, the uncoming vehicle would typically flash back. Man, that sentence sounds wrong without context, but anyway... I've noticed that I rarely get a flash back, so perhaps the reciprocity of it isn't as commonplace?

Always have, and always will...

And especially with our new laws that you must slow down to 25MPG when Police and emergency vehicles have their lights flashing.

It USED to be alerting people to a hazard...then the hazard lights came into being, and then the laws about when you are allowed to use them.

Now you have to slow down or be ticketed, but to flash people to slow down can get you ticketed.

I don't warn people but I do speed.
These threads always bring dumb responses from people I wish stayed off the roads.
The lead driver doing 55 MPH in a 55 on a two lane road with 8 vehicles behind him/her tailgating one another because of the one slowpoke
out front.

I have had so many close calls slowing down to 40kmh on the freeway. And been road raged against! Can't blame them though. Only an idiot would slow down to 40 on the freeway... oh... that would be me!

Oh, and flashing people to slow down is not a ticketable offence. Using your high beam with oncoming traffic is. So if you flash people with your low beam you're not doing anything wrong.

Always in a car. On motorcycle I tap my helmet, but most people do not know what that means.

The eighth vehicle is actually doing 40 MPH. Goody two-shoes up front probably can't see that due to the altitude of their moral high ground.

I thought there was a court ruling that flashing headlights is protected free speech. Waze usually lets me know.

Every time.

Although I do not think some of the younger drivers are aware of the "signal". They'll turn their high beams on back at me.

Though it's not a frequent occurrence, when I see it I do flash headlights. Figure I'd want someone to give me a heads up too.

Curious I just read that in 'some states', headlight flashing is considered protected free speech. Interesting.

These are both problems because of people following to closely, not speed.

I often do....since the majority of 'speeding tickets' are basically given for REVENUE...rather than 'safety'.....if somebody is driving dangerously...that's another story....

I pick and choose who's worthy of warning.

Working stiffs, you bet.

Porch SUVs, not likely.
