Do you have "brand loyalty"??? e.g., Purchased the same make of vehicle your entire adult life?

Well, my first two cars were an Oldsmobile and a Pontiac.

Makes it a challenge to be brand loyal when they don’t exist any more..
I actually owned a 1978 Olds 98 Regency coupe in my younger days.

What a comfortable yacht and fairly fast for its size.

I was pimping!!!

I've owned mostly GM my entire life with a couple of Fords. These days I'm more concerned with reliability so I'm not stuck on any one brand. I tend to keep vehicles for a very long time so I highly doubt I will be buying any new vehicles anytime soon and stray from what I currently have.

We had a Regency sedan in the family; I loved it.

With that being said, my father was a GM guy and had Oldsmobiles, Pontiacs and Chevrolets as I was growing up. I do feel a sentimental attachment to General Motors in a way, but with the exception of their fullsize SUVs (specifically the Suburban and Yukon XL), I really don't care much for anything they have the offer today. The Corvette is another great vehicle, so I do want to include that, but I'm just not big on sports cars as I am on body-on-frame wagons and sedans.

I also like Fords of the '90s and '00s; the reason the Grand Marquis appealed to me was because the Caprice was killed off in '96. That was when I took a shine to Ford. But again, there's literally nothing in the Ford lineup today that appeals to me and their continuous practice of de-contenting is something I truly despised.

Having said that, with the way the industry has shifted over the years, very few new vehicles appeal to me in general. I am not a fan of forced induction due to the environment I live in and the quality of fuel, etc. (or lack thereof) and I'm certainly not a fan of cylinder deactivation. In my unasked for opinion, one does not buy a full-size, body-on-frame SUV if fuel economy is a concern. If you're not happy getting 18 MPG, then don't buy one, period. Eventually a new vehicle is going to be in the cards, and if I end up going with a GM, the vehicle is going to get both a mechanical and software AFM/DFM delete.

Outside of the United States, and specifically in the Middle East, the one new vehicle I would drive off the lot, not have to do anything to and be content with is a Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series and maybe Nissan Patrol Safari.

Nissan-3
Toyota-1
VW-6
Audi-2
Dodge-1
Chevy-1
Subaru-1
Acura-1
Saab-1
Kia-1

Never owned a Ford, the Maverick will be my first if it‘s ever built.

Growing up I was MOPAR or no car, with dad having a Cuda and a cool D100 stepside.

That changed when I got a 2001 Dodge Ram. What a POS!!!!

I still have a Chrysler minivan because of the price difference between them and Honda/Toyota. The 95 Voyager I had was also a POS, but the 2001 I had was fantastic. I’ve had 2 more since then.

Now I buy what’s available and has been maintained well. I admit to really liking Nissan’s, though that isn’t the BITOG norm. They have been really reliable in our family. I’ve owned 2 Altimas, 2 Rogues and there are 3 Rogues in our extended family. All have been trouble free.

I’m a Jeeper, so I’d really like one of them, but they are stupid expensive. My 95 will get a new engine next year to keep my Jeeping.

Of my top 3 favorite vehicles I’ve owned, the big 3 are represented well:

1. 2014 F150
2. 07 Chevy Silverado
3. 86 Dodge D150

I’ve had 3 Camrys (2000, 2009, 2012) and they are fantastic. The 2000 and the 2009 are still in the family.

My driveway has 2 Chevys, 1 Ford, 1 Dodge, and 1 Nissan. I'm anything but brand loyal when it comes to vehicles. As far as past vehicles, I've previously had 4 Fords, 1 Nissan, and 1 Dodge.

I 'almost can't conceive of' brand loyalty.
I can see Mopar Madness. As a Mets fan I relate to masochistic tendencies.
I can see family members of an auto worker latching onto a brand.
I think I can see posh-leaning Acura and Lexus owners driving 'their favorite brand of scotch'.
Don't forget Mercedes-Benz and some Volvo owners.

What's memorable from my era (licensed to drive in the early seventies) are people who went Toyota when US cars were shamelessly in the toilet. I bet a lot of those customers have never looked back.

I've never owned any two vehicles of the same brand (see signature).
During my lifetime, my parents owned, in order of first appearance:
1 Willys
4 Chevrolet
1 Rambler
2 Buick
1 Ford
2 Dodge
1 Subaru
1 Plymouth
1 Toyota

Of all those, the first Buick was the most troublesome lemon, although the Subaru and second Dodge were both impending disasters when sold or traded away just in time. The only one they kept beyond 80k miles was the first Chevrolet. However, my sister-in-law inherited the Toyota, which now has around twice that mileage.

No loyalty, but do have preference, and if the brand produce a junk and the closest alternative is another brand, I would buy another brand. At the moment I like Mazda better than Honda for the same reason, the newer Mazda is closer to the 90s Honda than today's Honda.

Brand loyalty, maybe a small amount in the old days. Even then they all had their good and bad. Now times they are all bad.
So its now automotive age loyalty. I will never post what I think is the best older vehicles, I don't want to see everyone buying them.

5 Mopar’s, 1 Kia, 1 Toyota. Not married to the Mopar’s though, it’s just kind of hard to find vehicles that are RWD or RWD biased AWD, with the engine mounted as God intended (longitudinally) mounted to a decent transmission, and over 250HP.

All GM products from 1974 till today
except the 07 Toyota that I've owned since 09

Now my wife She's all over the place :)

I buy whatever vehicle a customer is looking to get rid of when I need a car. I generally pick up something that needs work that the customer doesnt want to put into the car and drive it for a while. Only car I ever bought ready to go was my 2003 Grand Marquis that I currently drive that a customer wanted to get rid of after his wife died. Otherwise its whatevers cheap.

So far ive had:
Mazda
Ford
Chevy
Honda
Toyota
Hyundai
Pontiac
Saturn
Between my friends, family and I's experience I lean toward toyota/honda but dont shy away from others personally if its a good deal. Just need to know the shortcomings or weak points of each model/make to work around it or be ready to fix.

Didn't realize God intended that configuration, but theology is a void in my education.

However, my intrinsic Kantian defined a priori knowledge of significant truths conflicts with the auto start/stop features offered on many brands today.

Mostly a Ford guy. Have had Explorers, Escapes, Taurus, Focus, Mustang and Escorts, even a Lincoln MKC. The 96 Escort was probably the best, most reliable car I ever owned. I only got rid of it because we started having kids and it was the 2 door hatchback… I think I’m mostly partial to how Ford does their interiors and because I’ve had pretty good reliability with them…
