Closest modern approximation to a Mercury Cougar

I considered a Camaro SS 1LE, a Challenger SRT and a 2015-up Mustang GT, but I ended up with a M235i; the 1LE, the SRT and the GT were great cars, but I preferred something smaller.

The Cougar name was used on so many different cars that even if that nameplate still existed, it could be anything.

But that gen was a big 2-door boat car. Of course the pre-IRS Mustang with the live axle is nice and boaty, especially if you downsize the wheels.

There's also the Accord coupe that they made until 2017. Hyundai's Genesis coupe might satisfy you as well.
