No one should laugh at another person's life lessons. While I think you got way in over your head (and a lot of people warned you) I sincerely hope that you learned a lesson that will stay with you the rest of your life.
The truth is that most of us have your best interest at heart, and we've all been there and made our own mistakes. Sometimes it's easy to understand if you've been there and made those mistakes, but it's difficult to understand if you are young enough to never have made the mistakes. Most of us (myself included) would prefer that you learn from our mistakes and years of experience rather than making your own mistakes, but sometimes the most important lessons in life aren't learned that way.
