My Tahoe did the same thing when I switched from Amsoil to Driven. It used a half quart by 1,500 miles, most it ever has, and then leveled off. It only lost around 1/4 qt the rest of the OCI. I'm over 1,000 miles into the 2nd change on it now and hasn't consumed a drop.

Just an update as I've changed out the mobil 1 10w30 HM around a thousand miles ago. It used a quart every 1k on the Mobil 1 so at 3500 I drained it and refilled it with PP 10-30 that I got on clearance at meijer for $6 a jug. I'm 1k into the platinum and it's used maybe a few ounces. I tried Mobil 1 5-30 HM a few years back and had the same issues so who knows what's going on. I bought 50 quarts of PP 10-30 so I'm set for awhile and thus far, this oil has used the least amount of any I've ever poured in the car including PP 5-30 and the high mileage version.
