Worth going from 5w40 to 5w30 just to have gf6? Mk7 GTI

2015 GTI, 75K miles, VW oil standard on this car allows both 5w30s and 5w40s. I've always used 5w40, no issues.

Sticking to 5w40 obviously means I can't use the newest stuff, which sounds like it designed for engines exactly like mine. Is there a significant enough advantage to the gf6/sp oils that would make it worthwhile to consider changing to 5w30 at this point with this car? It's specced for either, but Im not usually one to fix what isn't broken.

Appreciate any input

Nowhere will you see GF6/SP in your owners manual.
It's a 2015. Goes without saying haha :)
Stick with 502/505 / Porsche A40 or 504/507 / Porsche C30.
Of course, but the VW 502 spec includes oils in 0W/30 and 5W/30 as well. Some are gf6 and some aren't. So thats the reason I asked. Was wondering if there was any advantage to going with VW 502 oils that were also gf6, but I can do so while sticking to VW approval as well. But you're right, it doesn't have LSPI issues. I was thinking more along the lines of timing chain wear. But if there's no advantage to it I won't bother.
