Just got a new (to us) 2020 BMW X3 2.0, first BMW we've had. What oil is the best for it? Looks like anything that meets LL01 and 0W20, but I did some research and those two seemed to conflict. What does everyone here recommend?

Thanks!

Anything LL01, and that won't be in 0W20 grade. 0W20 grade is LL17FE.
So, you can pick up anything LL01 in Wal Mart (or LL04 actually if out of warranty).

What I would use? Considering there are some (SOME) instances of LSPI in B46/48 (I attribute that to Eco Mode) I would go LL04 if out of warranty that also has MB229.52 approval. New Monbil1 ESP API SP will have LL04.
Until then go API SP LL01, which would be Mobil1 0W40 API SP and Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W40. Usually it goes for $37 for 5qt in AZ or AAP. Mobil1 0W40 API SP will go around $27-29 in Wal Mart for 5qt.

Check your manual again. It's either 0w20 BMW LL 17 or 0w30 BMW LL 01 Fe. BMW LL 01 is for top up. This is if you are under warranty.
After warranty, any 5w30 or 0w30 that meets BMW LL 01 or BMW 04
will be good.
