2019 shift lever in park, yet display is showing in drive, shift lever won't move

Finally, thanks to All for your help with the this thread. I am grateful. Especially want to thank Nukeman And pimtac, their two posts helped me connect the dots in a very time constraint environment.

Wishing you luck for an event-free drive back to WA...I am always impressed that you are able to diagnose and improvise on the fly while facing crucial deadlines. I'm sure that having a cool head on your shoulders and exceptional critical thinking skills lessens the stress; however, you must have nerves of steel!
