-On my 2012 Honda Insight Ex bought brand new,!it used oil and I had just gotten used to keeping it topped off. 5 years later around the 102K mile mark the dealership I bought it from changed the oil/filter and started an oil consumption test, one guy said to come back in 3000 miles and just keep an eye n it.
-1600 miles later I was back at the dealership as it was pretty low on the dipstick, they said it was almost 2 quarts low (3.5 quart sump) and went through corporate and had a new motor (well everything inside the motor was replaced) installed. They said cylinder number 3 was scorched (whatever that means) and had a new short block installed all at no cost to me.
-I asked after all was said and done is there any special break in for this, they said no just drive it like normal. Oil level never dropped on the dipstick after that even though I was used to checking it once a week I still did. Traded it in in 2019 for my 17 Accord sport
