You're talking the type that uses a threaded rod that's forced against some flat part of the knuckle? Not a chance. In MN, that would do nothing but damage components.
What's your preferred method? For me as a DIYer I would probably soak the area with penetrating oil for a week beforehand.

Heat, BMH, heat, BFH until I can wedge something in-between the mating surface to force the bearing out. I've also had luck with threading the hub bolts back in slightly and using an air hammer on the head of said bolts. They actually do make a specific air hammer bit just for that purpose.
 
My 2019 FWD Rav4 is bolt in. I can't say that is common or not, the last FWD I had was a 1996 Oldsmobile - also bolt in.
