How does everyone feel about it? Around me MOST of it is made by exxon/mobil in conventional. 5w-20 is what I am in need of, but it isn't made by XOM (can tell by bottle design). I think it is made by specialty oils or something, anyone have any experience with it or this company? Any idea if it's good, I wish it was made by XOM. BTW I have an 05 honda civic 4 cylinder, so from what I've read they are great on oil.

probably made by Warren in our area. you can google warren oils, or use the search function on supertech.
As the price of ST oils have increased, if it were me, I'd choose a brand name for less than a dollar a quart difference.
The Accord 4 cyl is easy on oil as well

I believe Specialty Oil is owned by SOPUS. I saw some MSDS for various oils and Specialty Oil and SOPUS both had the same mailing address. (PO BOX 4427 Houston, Texas 77210)

Maybe Johnny could verify or set me straight on this one!

Warren makes the synthetic and can be identified by wpp on the bottle.
I believe mobil makes the dino as the jugs come in wide mouth bottles like the other mobil products.

MOST of the bottles. They do not make the 5w-20 and I'm pretty sure specialty oil makes it, and the post above confirms that, know anything about them?

I agree on the synthetic, but on the dino I think it depends on the part of the country you are in. Out here on the west coast, the dino is definitely not Mobil. The bottles don't look at all like Mobil stuff and they don't have the Warren marks on the bottom of the bottle.

As for the oil made by Specialty oil, I know nothing about it other than what I've stated. I would think if it's made by SOPUS that it can't be bad. As for additive packs, etc. someone smarter than me will have to chime in.

I believe you, but could you elaborate? Have you used it in your vehicles? If so, what type of engines, number of miles between oil changes - that kind of stuff!

Not sure about your area, but around here at WalMart the price difference between SuperTech dino and Mobil Clean 5000 is $0.50 for a 5 quart container.

I've been using super tech oils and filters for years.
My bike calls for 10/40,and automotive oil causes terrible valve train noise,as my bike has solid lifters.
The 10/30 synthetic runs super quiet in my bike,I change once a year, about 5000 miles.
My cars I change twice a year, once in spring, and again before winter, again every 5000 miles.

supertech 5-20 is made by warren performance products out of nebraska..they also make peak oil as well...a 5 qt jug of ST 10 or 5 -30 is 9.00$ in NH...but i havent seen a 5 qt jug of ST 5-20...i think the mobil clean and st are good deals...same with motorcraft synblend 5-20

Like I said before that may be true where you live, but out here on the west coast it is NOT. The bottles do NOT have the WPP stamped on the bottom and the MSDS I provided earlier tend to prove this point.

Geesh someone should sticky a "who makes Supertech" thread. This gets asked once a week. Yes, the product varies by geographic location. SOPUS, WPP, Exxon-Mobil....

Good point, very true. I was kind of thinking the same thing. Oh well it gives one more chance for those who actually use the search function to get an answer!

Tell you one thing. It sure is nice to look back and laugh at my Supertech stash. All bought at prices of $6.82 a gallon or less. And that was waay too much money to pay for it, according to some members.

Here we get the Mobil blended Supertech. Right now it actually costs a dollar more than Mobil Clean 5000.

I've used ST in the past(when it was between .74-.88 cents/qt) but, the price is getting too close to other major brands of better oils that are on sale/rebate. I'd rather have the name brand oils that are held in high regard here at Bob's.

The last time I stocked up on ST (XOM) oil, it was $4.96 a 5 qt jug. I could bring some back and make double the money (not that I would do that).

I've always used SuperTech. It's decent oil that made some nice UOA numbers in my wife's Maxx. It may be "bland" as far as additives go, but the UOA's don't lie.

Supertech is an SM oil. It's fine for whatever. Currently, though, it's not a great deal in light of Pennzoil being on sale for the same price.
