My favorite holster maker is Kramer. I just
love the quality, the material, customer service
and turn-around time. My second favorite is a
less well known holster maker named Tucker .
Also, I do believe that horse-hide is a better
material for use in holsters, especially since
the rough side of horse-hide is smoother than
the rough side of cow-hide.

Below is one of my holsters from Tucker.

Kramer is very nice. I might get a Kramer for my Beretta Stampede 45 Colt Six gun soon! I have Galco for my Sigs and Springfields and that are top quality also! I also own a DeSanti(spelling?) which is great too.

I doubt that I'll ever find a need for a holster down here, since the (conservative) Government and their gun grab of a few years ago.

They have a requirement for every firearm owner in our state to have their house, storage facilities, licences, and firearms inspected by June 30.

Mine was done last Monday, and I got a clean report.

That is really sad! Are you guys allowed to own any type of guns? Any hand guns, Shotguns, rifels?

I hear conflicting stories on this.

I also have a pocket holster and ankle holster from Uncle Mike's. I have a concealed permit but the ankle holster isn't real concealed.

I was strapping it on last week when the wife walked in, she hates when I'm carrying.
"Are you taking that thing again?"

"There's nuts out there."
"There's nuts in here too."

The wife is quick with snappy comebacks.

I ran out and got my CCW permit as soon as a Democrat got elected governor of PA, before he could change anything.

Chris,

after Port Arthur, John Howard (very quickly, I might add...almost like it was legislation waiting for an opportunity) brought in the new gun laws.

All semi-auto longarms are illegal. All pump action shotguns are illegal. Bolts and lever actions are acceptable, as are pump rifles.

I've got a handful of good quality .22s (Krico and Brno), a .223 bolt (CZ527), and a .44Mag Browning Lever.

To keep them, I MUST be the member of an accredited club, and have a legal obligation to attend 4 shoots per year....no great dramas there.

Safe storage, once again is reasonably common sense, it must be a secure container, bolted to the structure of the house, bolt and ammo kept separately.

I'm annoyed that the Police have search rights without a warrant (you must provide access if they want to see your set-up).

There have been some sad cases with this. Cop knocks on the door, guy has been to the range and is having a beer while cleaning his rifles.....instantly confiscated, and a $10k fine for consuming alcohol while being in control of a firearm. Another few cases have involved knocking on the door while the guy is at work. Wife shows the safe storage to the Police. They than ask to see the firearms, she obliges, they are confiscated, and $10k fine. If she knows where the keys are, then he has left them in the control of an unlicenced person.

As to pistols, there is no allowance to own a firearm for self defence in our legislation, so it is target competition only (except if you are media magnate Kerry Packer, who somehow is licenced to have a pistol in his top desk drawer). They've recently banned pistols over "38 calibre".

Jason,
this was all implemented by John Howard (almost a pin-up boy to some on this board), and is yet another reason that I want him gone from the top seat of this country.

We had a tragedy in Port Arthur, he worked with it, and beat up the situation installing fear and loathing in the general public.

He imposed his legislation (which has failed dismally) :
* The total number of banned firearms handed in was less than thte total number of mini-14s and SKS' in the country, but it was a great success.
* Murders with firearms are up, but the advertised homicide figures are lower, as they include suicides. Suicides are up alos, but just not with guns.

Now he's spruking that we have not had another Port Arthur since he took such decisive action (we hadn't had one previoulsy either).

Regardless, he needs to be out of the top seat, and there are a large number of us trying to ensure that he is out.

Well good luck to you.

Shannow, The voters of the USA will be bringing the same kinds of gun bans here if they continue putting the political party to the Left in Office. I'm registered as an independent for voting purposes. However, I never vote for a member of the party of Socialists that want to disarm us. We Americans can prevent being disarmed by voting wisely. However, we might, at some time, put ourselves into the same disarming as the citizens of your country and others have gone through. If the public puts them into office, then the public deserves it. However, many individuals (maybe such as yourself) will not deserve it.

krholm,
problem is that these were the conservatives.....who I helped to put into office in their first term.

Note for those in the USA, conservatives in places like Western Europe and OZ are about on par with the liberal Democrats here because their whole paradigm is way left of ours. Therefore, a lot of them think the conservative GOP here is completely nuts.

Shannow, JohnnyO made what I think is a very valid remark. After that, your elected politicians held your trust in deep contempt and betrayed you toward a Socialist order. I understand we're in danger of coming to that in the USA. They want power over you and us and, therefore, they distrust a law abiding armed citizenry.
