Torque wrench questions

Very low inch pound numbers are usually found in transmissions.

The lowest i can remember was 7 inch lb on some band adjuster.
The old Ford cast iron CruiseOmatic transmission is 10 inch lb.

I'd get a Precision Instruments PREC3FR250F for the lug nuts:

As Ben has already mentioned, you do not need to reset the wrench after each use. It's a split-beam type. I have the 3/8" version of this wrench and it's fantastic.

The HF torque wrenches are junk. I bought one, used it for about 20 times, and the handle gets stuck and refuses to turn. I exchanged it, and now the new one is starting to do the same thing. Plus, I think it's already getting out of calibration.

As for the transmission pan gasket, for such a low torque value, the click is going to be very faint. You're better off using your own "feel" to tighten those bolts.
