Those with 150,000 miles or more, check in

'00 Mitsubishi Pajero/Montero - 258,000 km/161,250 miles on original engine.

5,000 km/3,000 mile oil change since new - using Gulf Max 20W-50 (SL/CF and ACEA A3) for the first 200,000 km/125,000 miles.

Since it's used a variety of different oils with 3,000 mile OCI, except twice where I ran a 6,000 km (3,750 mile) rinse during Auto-Rx applications. The other oils I've ran are:

- Motorcraft Synthetic Blend 10W-30 (SM)
- Mobil Drive Clean 10W-30 (SL)
- Q8 Burgan Ultra 20W-50 (SL/CF)
- Q8 Burgan Extra 20W-50 (SL/CF)
- Fuchs Titan 15W-40 (SL/CF and ACEA A3/B3)
- Castrol GTX 10W-30 (SL)
- Castrol GTX 20W-50 (SL.CF)
- BP Visco 2000 20W-50 (SJ/CF)
- BP Visco 3000 20W-50 (SL/CF)
- Pennzoil Long Life Gold 15W-40 HDEO (CJ-4, CI-4 Plus 1, CI-4, CH-4, CG-4, CF-4, CF/SM).

Original owner, 1997 Toyota Avalon with the 1MZFE sludge prone engine...

Regular dino oil changes at 3K...used mostly Havoline oil and Fram filters until I joined BITOG at about 147K....then Purolator or Wix filters and Pennzoil/Valvoline oil...

180K...uses no oil...30 MPG on highway

had a 1974 Saab 900 4cyl 5 speed. 369,000. changed the oil every 3000 miles and used whatever was on sale. Sears Spectrom, Napa, Supertech, QS. Had to get rid of it after the spring came throught the seat and the head liner came off and etc etc. the engine still hummed.

Way back when I probably had a post in this thread about my '97 Monte Carlo, which I finally sold with 194K miles. It was running great when I sold it, didn't burn any oil and still could do high 20's on the highway no problem.

Now I've got a '99 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4.0L/5-speed as a second car, and it's just shy of 176K. Had a Fram on it when I bought it, and who knows what oil. It leaks from just about everywhere, but not fast enough to warrant being fixed (but we're getting there). Doesn't seem to burn any oil, and I don't have to add any make-up over a 4-5K OCI. Used GTX HM 10w-30 for a while, put in QS 10W-30 last time because I got it on sale. It seemed happier on the GTX HM.

The 4.0L still pulls strong and can do 25 mpg on the highway. It only turns at about 1500 RPM at 55!

97 Mercury Mountaineer / Ford Explorer AWD
5.0L V8
210,000 miles

Every oil from [censored] on sale w/ a Fram filter (my dad), to full synthetics (Mobil 1, Royal Purple, Lucas Oil, Red Line) + K&N filter. Currently running Motorcraft 5W20 & Motorcraft filter.

2004 Honda Accord V6

161,000

Mobil 1 for 10K OCI up to 60K mark then any "big brand" synthetics for 7-9K synthetics until 150K. Changed to YB and Maxlife for 6500 OCIs...probably until the body rusts off (no signs yet).

99 cavalier with mostly QS or pennzoil dino...180k and uses hardly any oil

We run a fleet of service trucks with PTO driven equipment. They are 8,900 pounds before anyone gets in them! GMC Savana 3500 with 6.0 V-8.

Currently have an 04 with 160000 all city miles and over 5000 hours of stationary operation at 1750 RPM!!! Original everything except belts. Runs great, no oil consumption.

Born and raised on Amsoil, both oil and filters. We change when the OLM says.

I had 3 vehicles, but sold my 92 mits mirage 132k miles, two years ago, because I hardly drove it. It was a good college car for me. It needed a new muffler to pass inspection so I sold it.

1986 Ford Escort GT 286k, daily driver, original owner, original engine, transmission. Dino oil changes (with 10/30, 10/40, and 20/50 weights) and Fram! filters from 3k -5k for the first 20 years. Now with HM dino oils with 5-6k OCI and Motorcraft filters. Not bad for a "disposable" car.

1997 Chrysler T&C 3.8 AWD, 161k; in family since new, I've owned for the last 5 years adding 32k miles. Was dealer/independent maintained prior to purchase. Now on MaxLife synth blend 5-30 and Bosch filters.

99 honda accord. 186k. Daily driver. Used castoil gtx dino 5w-30 till 115k. I changed to pennzoil platinum 5w-30 back about 2006. Have recently changed to chevron supreme synthetic. I have used just about every brand of filter made. I like wix when I can find. No problems, no smoke. She is down alittle on compression but still avg 27 mpg at 80 mpg. Looking forward to the next 150k!
