bolt(s) can rust and eventually snap off possibly leading to loss of control . You may hear a clunking noise from the front end which may indicate the issue . There was an TSB for this in CANADA ( TSB 3271 ) and now has been posted for the U.S.. Those who live in areas of heavily salted roads may want to look into this matter . Our '08 has been clunking for over a year now . Last August we took a copy of the TSB from CANADA to a TOYOTA service center . We then showed and told the manager of our concern and if they could inspect it . In return he says in an angry tone it's for CANADA and he doesn't believe anything from off the internet and no need to take a look at it . We plan to take it in soon since the TSB is now for the U.S.. The hours of labor are 7 and 1/2 hours . Last , it's only covered under the 3 year / 36,000 mile warranty . So , anyone over this is most likely going to have to pay for it along with an alignment . Smart of TOYOTA to put the burden on the consumer and save the cost and frustration of having to post a recall that would likely harm their rep more . Luckily if this is the problem for the '08 sedan it'll be covered under the PLATINUM extended warranty ( 8 yr./125,000 miles ) that was given to us for free due the head cylinder gasket being replaced .
