Hello,

I am looking for some recommendations for the front and rear differential fluids. This is for an ATV (2020 Suzuki King Quad 500) that is used for snowplowing in the Ohio winters and trail riding/property maintenance in the summers. Temperatures can reach single digits in the winter and upper 90's in the summer.

The manual specifies the following:

Front = SAE 90 hypoid gear oil that is rated API GL-5, or SAE 80 hypoid gear oil

Rear = Mobil 424 or equivalent (I am having a hard time finding this in the quantity less than 2.5 gallons....I simply do not need this much lol)

Any suggestions?

Any GL-5 differential lube in 75W90 should be sufficient. I would try to use a Synthetic version.

The 424 is a 9.3 cSt@100C lube that can be had in many other products such as:
Amsoil MTF
Pennzoil Synchromesh
Redline MT-75W80, etc

I have a 2011 kingquad 750. I use mobil 1 75w-90 in the front differential and hydraulic fluid in the rear. My rear is a wet brake system I believe. Done this since new.

Most motorcycle shops carry 500cc bottles of gear oil, but they are the same price, or more, as the Walmart brand full synthetic and you get twice as much
