Ruger Security 9 safety

I’m finding it hard to use the safety on my new Ruger Security 9.Is it advisable to oil it

Are you having trouble disengaging or engaging the start? Sounds like you may want to call Ruger customer service.

I would get my hands on a owner's manual and lube it as per instructions.

Perhaps a drop of lube and a session of engaging/disengaging? Loosen it up through accelerated use? You generally shouldn't have to but maybe worth a try before sending it back to the mothership.

It's a low end Ruger. Not the best made and it is for light duty at best. Playing with it should free it up some.

had one a few years ago...same observation; lightly lubed the safety lever & played with it a while; sopped up excess oil that leeched out; seemed to fix the issue; my normal mode was to leave the safety off
