Recommendations For A Good Easy On / Off Wax?

My exact feeling on NXT 2.0. I recommend Armor All Extreme Shield Wax. It's quicker to use than NXT since you don't have to let it haze. You just wet the paint with it then wipe off. Been using for almost 3 years, durability is averaging 9-months to 1 year+ for nightly garaged vehicles. However, you can honestly use it after every car wash if you're nuts enough. It only takes an additional 15 minutes which I don't mind, since I consider car cleaning a workout.

Over the past 20 years, 15 of them I've been using Meguiars Cleaner Wax then moved to NuFinish. The last 5 I finally got the NXT 2 then Armor All. I also use Meguairs #26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax (a carnuba) to top the sealants. The NXT 2 and Armor All are the easiest to use. I think that for most people you need at least one have decent paint detail AKA clay bar + wax. Then during washing use a wash+wax then wax as you dry. With that regimen waxing your car becomes less frequent.

I was wondering if there is something better on the market. I get nothing but confused at all of the waxes that are currently out there. And there seems to be more every week. Meguire's alone has over a dozen products. I'm looking for something that applies and removes easily, in a single step application. I'm going to be doing my full size truck which has a Leer camper shell, along with my new Jeep Grand Cherokee when we purchase it later this month. So with 2 large size vehicles ahead of me to wax, I want a product that I don't have to struggle with. I was hoping you guys could steer me to or away from some waxes you've used. I hate to just take a chance, or go by the advice of the kid at the local auto parts store.

If you watch any of these car shows on TV, every product they test is the best they've ever tried. I have to admit, I rarely see people waxing their cars any more. Back in the 60's it seemed there was someone out in their driveway every Saturday or Sunday doing it if the weather was nice.

Make you if your car has a lot of vinyl that you get something that does not turn white on vinyl like NuFinish. My Jeep is 33% vinyl or so it seems.

There is really nothing better then NuFinish for ease of use and long lasting durability with a good shine. I was a pro detailer for 15 years and worked on everything from Lamborghinis to Ford Escorts. I had to convince some high end customers to try the NuFinish and if they did not like the results their bill would be free. I never had to make good on that offer. LOL

Many bash it but they have never tried it.

+1

Yep, when it takes me less than an hour to wax the vehicle, I'm not going to complain about durability.

Ultima Paint Guard Plus or Opti-Seal, it does't get much easier as far as I'm concerned and I recommend these products to many of my customers who are looking for something easy than anyone can do. Idiot proof products that look great and last a long time, and no need to worry about getting them on trim etc.

i also prefer liquid, but usually the paste comes with an applicator pad if you dont already have one
their are nu finish videos on youtube that show amazing results these are customer videos not advertisements

Lucas spray wax really surprised me with how easy it was to apply and remove, not to mention the deep shine it left. Good stuff.

"Wax" - which is generally what people call a paste-type carnauba wax, is a fairly outdated product nowadays. For the average Joe, it is a heavy time investment for the short-term results that you get.

Paint sealants and paint coatings make a lot more sense for most daily drivers. I encourage you to consider sealants such as Sonax Polymer Netshield or paint coatings such as CarPro CQuartz UK.

I've stayed away from Nu Finish because it was one of those "Made For TV" products. I put it into much the same category as all of that other Saturday morning nonsense. Looks like I'll have to give it a shot. It's stood the test of time. So that say's something. It's been around for years.

That's exactly what NuFinish will do.

Which is one reason I use Collinite 845. It doesn't turn white on black vinyl or rubber.

Been waxing cars 55 years and haven't found anything easier.

If you truly want a wax Optimum is a winner. If you want a long lasting sealant then it's very hard to beat Nufinish for the price but be careful with it. My choice would be Duragloss #501. It is a cleaner/sealant not a wax. Wax is very short lived with a few exceptions like Collinite.

I've used this for a couple years now on my Accord and more recently on the
Ranger and Can Am. They are garaged and run thru a car wax infrequently, but in the
rain it beads up on the hood. I do it a couple times a year. More often on
the Can Am. Spray lightly and wipes off easily. Works well on black bumpers or rubber.
