I thimk I know what ToyotaNSaturn is refering to. I also have noticed the difference in can rigidity between a ST16 and a Mann W917(?). There's no doubt that the Mann can is made of thicker gauge steel.

Bill, I made the executive decision to use M1, Amsoil or K&N filters ONLY as they have seriously heavy-duty containers. The Supertechs are great for the price, but have flimsy containters. Given that the 3.5L V6 Vue has the filter facing road elements, I'm not comfortable with using anything but a tough container.

Do you see this same issue or am I concerned about nothing here?


I use Supertechs on my Dads V6 Vue and never had ANY problems. (and he drives on a LOT of gravel roads around here).

I don't think its a problem. Also, I don't think they are flimsy, takes quite a bit of work to cut one open.
