In No. New Jersey and the valleys which go north (Hudson and Champlain) there are NEVER any super sales.

Once in a while there'll be a 1/2 price table with discontinued oil at one store or another.
But the starting price is ridiculously high.

The "Oil Change Specials" never seem as special as once they did.

Go take a look at the English Volvo board "Volvoforums.org.uk" and see what our allies to the east are paying for their oil. Kira

Kira, thanks for your comments and you're absolutely right, others around the globe have it worst.

That's Ridiculous!

You may be right, but they have always had it in stock when I went. Last time i bought 4 jugs.

The US elected a socialist to run the country in 2008 and again in 2012, so not sure where you are going with that post.

In a circle to be sure, much like the proverbial dog chasing its tail.

On a different note--Merry Christmas to everyone in Canada and the US. Stay warm my friends in the great white north!!

They refused to update their web site and continued to list the oil in-stock for three months. Never did get any. I really try to avoid that store.
Do you not have consumer protection laws in Canada? It's common that those laws include deceptive advertising claims.

I saw this too. It was 12.09 here in BC, so at 2.40/ litre for a quality conventional, I see no problem.

Just came back from canadian tire and bought Motomaster Supreme 5w20 5L and 1L bottle with oil filter for my wifes car which totaled 28.56..hate the HST TAX...But you cant go wrong for 12.09 for 5 litres. I think the Motomaster Supreme is still packaged by Shell..not sure

I wonder what the difference is between Canadian tire "Certified" oil, Motomaster Supreme and Formula 1 conventional. They all seem to be from Shell but they don't make so many different grades of dino oil......

Formula1 is their top of the line "House brand" and the only one I would ever use. I just bought it awhile ago for 13 and change and I do know that it is made by Shell. I believe the additives would be the main difference. Anyhow, you can check out the following MSDS sheets to compare each oil by simply typing "Conventional Oil" in the search bar. Link is provided below.

Thank you for that info as I was totally unaware of this....so that would mean that we are not a country but a British colony. I must have missed that part at school but I can thank my lucky stars that I have the great one below us to educate us silly colonialists....really.

Then: 2013 Boxing Day/Week CanTire Motor Master Formula 1 Full Synthetic 5L jug @ $17.99
Now: 2014 Boxing Day/Week CanTire QSUD Full Synthetic 5L Jug @ 27.99

I remember a long time ago I watched one of those late night shows and they took to the streets asking people things like who was the prime minister of Canada and even like what kind of weather we have up here. I was blown away by the lack of education some of these people had. Up here we are taught about all the other parts of the world and also past history from those other places.

I should have mentioned that this was from an Ontario flyer...BC does offer the same special so I'm guessing this is a nation-wide special.
