Low fat vs. Regular milk, big difference?

For some reason the Lactose-free milk available here is UHT pasteurized. Tastes OK to me while regular UHT milk tastes poor to me.

All factory milk is based on milk powder and water ... It's higher than 3.5% as it comes off the farm (contains cream). They put some through a dryer to get powdered milk, and dilute the rest with water, then bring the Milk Fat up to the target with powdered milk.

So ... Farm (up to 30+%) -- 3% (for whole milk, adjust as required) --3.25% ( store 3.25)

It should be obvious that a gallon of 2% has more water than whole milk.

Whether or not it matters dpends on how much milk you consume. I put milk in my cofffe and I like an occasional latte and hot cocoa made with milk. I am howver quite fond of cream and dour cream. How much milk do you drink every day?

8 oz 1% milk contain 13 g of carbs.

1 gal = 128 oz
2.5 gal = 320 oz
320/8= 40
40x13 g = 530 g

If you drink 2.5 gallon 1% milk per week, you consume 530 g (18.3 oz) carbohydrates from sugar alone. Per year you consume 27.6 kg ( 61 lbs) carbs from milk.

You are talking to someone who lives for 5 months out of the year mostly on ice-cream.
