I've been impressed with Driven's line of oils. It keeps expanding and their reputation among those in racing that use their products is extremely good. I personally have no use for their oils, but if I had a high peformance engine it's probably the oil I would use.

Another good article.

I've chatted with Lake a couple of times in the past and after providing him with the spec's (clearances, oil temp's etc) of the Cosworth/Vauxhall engine in my Caterham he recommended their XP2 0W-20 race oil. He has a regime of how to use a very low TBN (1-2) race oil for street/track use but it's more bother than it's worth IMO.

Lake's definitely from the "as thin as possible, thick as necessary" lubrication school and favors high VI oils although their formulations tend to use limited amounts of polymer VM's which does limit their maximum finished VIs compared to some of their competitors.
For applications that require the ultimate in shear resistance or if you're just particularly anal about it,
JG Driven oils are a good choice.
