UI/UX as an industry often overemphasizes making things pretty instead of making things functionally better. Some of the professionals care more about making their portfolios look a certain way than improving products they work on, so they do strange things that don’t make sense outside this context.My interface just changed to on the desktop version, and agree it’s not intuitive. Gmail has changed the last few years also in a similar poor manner.
UI/UX folks have also been insufferable to deal with and I try to avoid them.
