So did Johnson/Evilrude, the OMC family. We had a twin 50 Evil with the electronic (push button) gear selector that had them in it. It was an obnoxious and horrifically rough running motor compared to our i4 Merc 50 which also lacked the Evilrude's propensity to stall frequently when changing gears
