Drivers who are clearly in the wrong

And, you're never going to "teach them a lesson." They either believe they are doing nothing wrong or will not lose face, as was previously stated. Best to just blow it off. There is nothing I've read in this thread that warrants a physical confrontation or ruining one's life for a moment of potential satisfaction.

Yeh. Taiwanese drivers. They threaten me with bodily harm almost every time I drive.

Notably the ever popular "racing line" on mountain roads. IOW driving quite fast on the wrong side of the road around blind corners.

Cause-effect dissociation. It's a cultural thing.

There's seldom time for any of that bird flipping though.

Protecting myself from someone ruining my life and face after following me into the stores parking lot is certainly worth protecting myself. Protecting one's life and those of his/her loved ones is perfectly legal here in Indiana.

I am merely suggesting that one should NOT engage a road-rager in any way. Let them take out their life's issues on someone else. Then again, if you're just seeking an excuse to shoot someone, have at it.

Idiot people like that may just find themselves looking down the barrel of a gun someday. I can't believe how insane some people get on the roads. It really is like "Road Warrior".

You're entitled to take offense. Some people in the world have a different opinion of importance of following all of the rules.

I'm at risk of a ticket. I take that very slight risk on.

How it is.

I am with you, 100%. If you are impeding traffic, MOVE OVER. I'll do 90+ if I [censored] well please, and I don't need a highway superhero in my way to "teach me a lesson."

SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT.

I have no opinion about "I AM ENTITLED TO SPEED".

I agree with "SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT"

Many states have laws against slower traffic cruising on left lane. Source: http://www.mit.edu/%7Ejfc/right.html

California traffic laws: 'The duty of slower traffic to keep right applies "notwithstanding the prima facie speed limits."'

Nevada traffic laws: 'Slow-moving vehicles must move right if "imped[ing] ... movement of traffic."'

When driving to Vegas I stayed on left lane for some sections because right lane were very bumpy, but I moved to right lane as soon as a vehicle approached within 500-1000 ft, even i was driving at 10-15 MPH faster than limit. After got passed I moved back to left lane if it was empty.

Texas has to be more blatant with signage due to the geniuses who live here. The highway signs say "Left Lane for Passing Only." Even with that it doesn't always work. But, I learned from a driving school owner that if there are no such signs present it is perfectly legal to drive whatever speed one likes in the left lane. That pretty much includes all highways in the metro areas. I was taught differently. I'll move over for anyone. If I were, hypothetically, doing 100 in a 70 zone I would move over to let the person doing 110 pass me. My purely selfish motivations are that I don't like tailgaters and better that they get the ticket than me.

Yeah, you're leaving out whole huge chunks of the story, on purpose.

Somehow, I don't believe you were just driving to the grocery store to get a gallon of milk for your Cocoa Krispies, and some completely random person materialized out of nowhere, brandishing a tire iron, and chose you to pick a fight with.

So tell the truth, what did you do to instigate and escalate this situation to the point that someone thought that beating you in the head with a tire iron was a constructive thing to do with their day?

BC.

My post was not a reply to yours. It was a general comment on the topic and a specific reference to an earlier post about teaching a lesson. I see now that you may have thought my reply was to you. Sorry about the misunderstanding. We all seem somewhat tightly sprung these days.

You are classic example of what is wrong with drivers today...you think you can make up your own rules...speed limits exist for a reason...if you can't abide by the laws, then stay off the roads!

If you can't stay right and keep moving, stay out of the passing lane, Speedy.

Not that there was much damage to be done.

I'm not sure I'd rely on a "legal opinion" from a driving school owner. Here there's a state statute requiring drivers to keep right and leep moving. I've seen tickets issued for impeding traffic
although you have to work at it to get one. "My engine ain't running guud " isn't a defense.

Good one !

You've noticed that too with Grampi's posts?

You know what really gets me [censored] is people who constantly have issues with other people and are unwilling to look in the mirror and realize the 1 common denominator in their interactions with others is themselves!

I realize there are a lot of selfish idiot drivers on the road, but it's not worth it to get so upset and constantly rant and rave about it on internet forums! If you made it to your destination safely, move on with your life and fuggetaboutit.

It's just something interesting to talk about...jeez, take a chill pill!
Ha! A "response" which demonstrates the truth in Drew 99 GT's observation. "Grampi" has nothing to say about oil and the other customary topics in this site, so he resorts to bomb throwing to get attention. How many sites have shown you the door, Speedy?

You're the twerp going 55 in the left lane, then? Figured.

wink.gif

Up here you'll get a nice ticket for not keeping right.

No, he won't. It is totally unenforced.

Should be a huge fine...at least $1000, plus at least another $200 for each car being held up.

OK! One was a drunk or a guy high on drugs, not sure which, won't go into what nationally he was, just lets he was from south of Texas. No idea what I did to him.

Other one was parked in the fire lane at WalMart letting his wife out, which is OK with me, I do the same at times, and I drove by him.

There you have it. BTW guy #2 was escorted away by a cop who was a couple of cars behind me and saw the whole thing, wonder what happened to his wife? lol

Does that clear things up enough for you?????????????????????

Or do you wish to try to read more into the story????????????????
