I used the turkey baster method to replace the factory fill PSF in my wife's 2006 Pilot with Amsoil PSF. The vehicle has racked up 62K miles since she drove it off the lot new in May 2006. Long story short, Honda PSF is clear and somewhat amber when new. The factory fill in my wife's Pilot, however, had turned dark brown and was almost black. The fluid didn't have a burnt smell, but certainly looked long overdue for replacement. My 62 year old father in-law observed and neither one of us remembers flushing PSF in any vehicle, with the exception of those times we have replaced PS pumps or added makeup fluid.
FYI: Amsoil PSF seems to work well in this application
