    Battery reset

I'd get yours tested for some reassurance. Carry cables or a boost pack, you won't need them. I'd look into if "Forscan" does batteries-- you can get the dongle on ebay for ten bucks. It has other tricks that are also worthwhile.

    Castrol 0w-16 $2.00 a quart Autozone

And if they show 17 quarts, divvy your order up... maybe 12 and 5. That way if they miscounted and only have 16 they won't void the entire thing.

    Seen at pharmacy today

It has an API starburst and isn't non-detergent 40 weight. Baby steps!

    Castrol 0w-16 $2.00 a quart Autozone

That was on clearance some time ago, like 2-3 years. Wonder if it's a zombie website or another try at the plan-o-gram? Nice if you can get it.

Why three decimal points on gasoline pumps

25 years ago, in Ohio, I saw a Sunoco offer 87 octane for $1.399 and 86 for $1.398. If I were a betting man the 86 was secretly 87.

Need recommendations for a battery charger

^ The one amp Noco "Genius" or whatever they call it is rated for smaller capacity lead acid batteries per its instructions. I'm not sure it can effectively "desulfate" or whatever "therapy" it offers batteries on a full size 90 AH car battery. It will trickle charge and turn the LED green though.

Watching people run over the curb...Good times!

We have a walmart with an infamous pole. I know what causes it, drivers turn left in a decreasing radius trying to avoid pedestrians and the pole remains hidden behind their A-pillars. If the drivers would stay right like they're supposed to and not get impatient they'd be fine.

    First OBD scanner

Do you want it for every car you might run into or just Nissans? I am not familiar with Nissans. Toyota, Ford, and VW all have specific aftermarket scanners that give a lot of value for the money. A "good" ELM327 with Torque Pro can do wonders, especially if aftermarket tuners reverse...

    My Sonata Failed Inspection

Be nice if we knew where you lived. There might be a state-specific loophole, and rust or the lack thereof is part of the equation.

Is there an FCC ID you can look up?

What is this on my exhaust?

My late model prii use the catalytic converter to speedily heat the engine coolant. The system isn't perfect-- some cars break this heat exchanger and poop antifreeze out the exhaust/ muffler, leading to misdiagnoses of head gasket problems.

    Variable power supply suggestions

I think they have them cheaper on ebay.

Sad day ... physical problems regarding doing my own maintenance

That sucks. Hopefully you'll find a way to do "some" work since you find that satisfying. Still be safe, of course. Lots of 75 year olds here fall off a ladder cleaning the gutters, or have heart attacks clearing snow, since "they've always done it." Maybe get a spotter like your wife.

Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w-20 3 pack 5 qt jugs $60.64 Amazon subscribe and save

You can buy a membership, buy the oil, then return the membership "unsatisfied." Half the readers would buy one jug, because "that's all I need right now." The other half have Atikovi's bedroom collection.

If You Could Meet Someone From BITOG?

I was wondering about this.. the other mods seem as passionate as any of us about the subject matter within. They contribute and ask questions. M56969 never has car trouble they need help with. I thought he was a bot.

Took a test drive in a used truck today, something in the cab made me sick.

Sadly there's something going on with this ride. Detailers (and wholesalers) are good at removing evidence. You, sadly, are like a bloodhound for something-- water damage maybe? Cars on lots get "closed up" for weeks or months and could just need a good airing out. But anything of mine that...

    Powertrain Warranty Question

Well then they should get out of the business of selling new Buicks if they don't want to do warranty work. If they "want" to change whole turbos instead of lines then they need to work out with GM how they're going to do that for their customers. If they can't change a hose without breaking...

    Powertrain Warranty Question

Find out who owns the offending dealer and make sure you get out of their network. Others have covered, succinctly, the quandary that if a turbo can only be replaced as an assembly, then its subassemblies require complete replacement if failing, and said assembly specifically called out as...

Are aftermarket transmission pans worth it?

It won't cool your fluid as much as an upgraded cooler. I'd drive around and see what your trans temps are and if you feel you need more coolness. The added capacity would be nice and the drain plug, ditto. I assume you'd still use the factory type filter. I put a deep pan on my F150's E4OD...
