Decided to do Serpentine and power steering belt on the Sebring. The power steering belt is a stretch belt. Never done one before. I tried the zip tie method which I did wrong and ended up snapping the belt. Rented an install tool from Oreillys and that was the ticket.

I feel your pain. Back when I had my mk4 GLI, it felt like every single bolt that held anything of substance to the car or engine was a stretch bolt.

Are we talking about a stretched belt or stretch bolt?

Oh, it's a feature. They might even call it "Torque to yield" or something. For every bolt outside of the cylinder head. LOL

I guess it's application specific. My Mazda 3 has a stretch belt for the AC compressor and the zip tie method worked great for me.

I'm never gonna change the water pump belt on my Ford Escape because it's one of those stupid things.
