The cost of the oil (and filter) is not the only cost there is. You must either drive somewhere and pay for someone to do it (and have faith that they use the correct oil, filter, tighten things sufficiently, etc. while you wait then pay), or you must jack the vehicle up and spend
YOUR time, tools, etc. Does anyone actually consider their time as "free?"

IS money, friend, that's one reason I use synthetic, specifically, Amsoil, and for the last 4 years while my son was away at college and driving my car, I could still sleep at night if he "ran over" a few thousand miles on an oil change (with a car that was 6 hours away from me). He graduated with honors, got a job and married, gave me the car back, and it still runs like a top with 190K+ on it.
As far as I'm concerned, synthetics rule!!
