Who here has some high mileage motorcycles??? Ive got two bikes a 94 Ninja ZX6E at 68,000 miles. I really want to get this thing up to the 100,000 mile mark as well as my Ninja 250.

My '99 cop bike has 54,000 on it. I bought it from a friend, who bought it from the dealer, that leased it to the Edison NJ police dept. It's a road warrior been down at least once that I can tell. Has battle scars and the paint isn't perfect. With the air suspension it floats down the road, the suspension is still tight, as is the motor. It's the first production year for the twin cam motor, and has M@M fuel injection.Runs great and is alot of fun.,,

'83 R100RT with 90k and change.
But, I've repaired a lot of things on it, including one engine rebuild.

My younger brother has a 2005 Honda VTX 1300 with over 70K. Other than normal wear items, the clutch was only recently replaced.

My 1999 Honda ST1100 has 188,000 miles and is running great. I'd like to get 200,000. After that who knows?

Impressive. Good to see you are still around, Rick. I pm'd you a few weeks ago.

Worked for Honda Motorcycle dealership last year-

Saw several bikes with 100,000 (Goldwing is common but also some of the Honda V-twins) and Honda Rancher ATV with 60,000+ (really impressive considering the guy punished it)

And I did see a 1987 BMW (not sure which model) with a mind blowing 325,000 miles. Would not believe it if I didn't see it. The guy did do some major maintenance at 50k but really "let it go" after that....

My Vulcan is fast approaching 32,000, but a 100-mile round trip every day will do that. Runs like new and gets 55mpg under those conditions so I'm happy. Although soon I will be telecommuting and able to wake up an hour later.

When I bought my bike, there was another Vulcan 900 at the dealership (not for sale) with over 90,000 on it.

I have a 1978 Kawasaki KZ650 with 167,000 miles on it retired from duty about 15yrs ago so 167,000 in 20yrs, and a 1979 KZ1000MKII with 80,000 miles ridden in the 2 weeks I used it for trips in 8yrs time for the most part. These miles are nothing really. I thought I was riding a lot back in the 80s.

Nope: 04 ninja 250 has just over 10,000 on it now
05 R1 has 24,000 but the motors been appart twice..

Now my Polaris Ranger has 260 hours on it now

That's high mileage?
My Harley has 32000 on it however only 20000 on the 106 conversion. My 86 Honda shadow 750 has 80000 on it,my nighthawk is pretty low at 16000 and my Yamaha venture has 80000 on it.
None of these bikes have had a failure and I've now got rotella 15w-40 in the Harley. The top end is super quiet, even more so than when I had RP or motul in it. It is equipped with an oil cooler though. And I will be installing fabrik8tor's head cooling fans as soon as I get some time.
Anyone with a Harley needs to check out these head cooling fans. They bolt up right on the horn bolt and can either be switch,or temp actuated.
They move an insane amount of air and according to my tuner my head temps went from 330 degrees to 280 in traffic. A very worthwhile mod.

One member on the V-Strom forum has a DL1000 with 276,000 miles on it--no engine repairs. Suzuki gave him a new speedometer when he found that his odometer stopped at 199,999. He says he's always used Castrol Syntec (now Castrol Edge) 10W-40 and Fram filters with 6000 mile oil drain intervals.

2007 R1, 54,000 mi, bought new in Dec. 2006. Only prob was the original cam chain tensioner. Around 17,000 mi, it wouldn't pump up when the bike was started warm, and I'd get some cam chain slap for the first 3-4 seconds after a warm startup. Wouldn't do it on a cold startup (I guess the higher oil pressure was the reason). Replaced with a manual CCT and no more problems.

2001 YZ-250, hundreds of hours.

96 Honda ST1100 with 193,000kms on it. Original engine, clutch etc. maintenance items on cooling system, carbs and timing belt are the only things I have had to do.

Crooked roads in your neck of the woods? I've never heard much about mountains/hills Down Under. Good roads near you?

Original clutch? That's awesome. Makes me feel much more confident in the Hondas I have.
There is something to be said about a wet clutch and durability.
On a car I've never had a clutch last even 100000kms. I fry them, however hot lapping and burn outs will shorten clutch life I'm sure
