I have a band of crows. Their sentinel perches high in a locust tree and announces our coming and goings. Road killed squirrels are a food source. Yet , I rarely see a road killed crow. Yesterday, I noticed the flock of robins in the driveway drinking the ice melt. They puff up their feathers against the cold and look very acclimated. The song birds at Mum's feeder are fascinating. The stuff they spill becomes turkey food. Mum counted 21 the other day. Birds are dinosaurs with 65 million more years of evolution.
There are geese, just a dozen or so in a little pond down the hill from the Wellesley town hall. About 10-ish the animal control officer pulls up and parks on top of the hill. The geese waddle up the lawn for breakfast.

Cool!

I have 17 feeders. Black oil sunflower, live mealworms, peanuts and homemade suet. Just made some more today.

I love my blue birds.
