Jeep Liberty's aren't that great, and neither are Nissan Rogue's; and I'm a Jeep/Nissan fanboy LOL
CVT's are by far hit or miss. Honda has seemed to figure out a decent CVT whereas Nissan hasn't. Girlfriend has a Jeep Compass with a CVT transmission, and we can't tell if it runs poorly, or that's just how a domestic CVT "shifts" at 120k miles.
Jeep Liberty's aren't my favorite, and cater to a niche market that wants a Jeep but also wants economy as well.
I'd ditch the Rogue and keep the Liberty as a beater.
A Toyota RAV4 may be more in your favor.
