The PF64 is too short for this truck 5.3L engine, which calls for a PF63E originally, the longer version of the PF64.
I don't think Fram has any 22-psi-bypass PF63E equivalent, except for their racing oil filter, the Fram HP19, which filters very well (94% @ 20 microns) but is kinda expensive, around $18 I think, and usually you can only get it from summitracing.com or amazon.com, mail-order.

Actually, Wix says their regular 10255 filters much better than their own XP, not an opinion here, just plain old published data on the internet.

Dealer parts dept supplied Delco, which should be a cellulose synthetic blend, plus:

Their cellulose filters better than their synthetic:

If I had a vehicle with room to do it, and wanted cleaner oil, I would install one of these.

You asked for opinions. I don't know where this idea synthetic is always superior to natural comes from, but the complexity of a house fly is something we can't even yet understand let alone make. A polyester shirt is synthetic, how does that absorb sweat compared to cotton? Not so good.

I looked at some of Frantz's filters and they seem to be out of stock.

Thank you but that was not the question

Your question was "which one filters better" ... well, it's not the WIX XP even though it's synthetic media. It's ISO filtering performance is not stellar.

Synthetic media usually filters better than cellulose, and has greater capacity (dirt-holding).

Extended performance oil filters (e.g. WIX XP) *typically* have poorer filtration numbers, which allows them to go longer OCI before loading up the media.

Go with the standard WIX 10255 filter for your application. Hard to go wrong with those.
