Problem is not guns , it is crazy and / or evil men / women .

I think the problem is the opposite . Have not heard if any one returned fire ? Not a case of too many guns , a case of to few guns and too few people willing and able to fire back .

There is zero " safety " on this earth , in this life . Get used to it .

How are you going to "return fire"? You have one of the largest hotels in the country, that is basically a 43 story mirrored glass façade. It's night, and you have no idea where the shooting is coming from. If people started aimlessly, "returning fire", you could easily kill innocent people in adjoining rooms. It's this kind of stupid thinking that gives law abiding citizens who carry weapons a bad name. You NEVER return fire unless you know what you are shooting at, and are sure of your backdrop. If you don't understand that, you have zero business touching a gun for ANY reason... Let alone self defense.
