-5C today and overcast so no major solar gain, so I predict 8-9 chunks of maple into the woodstove, 40-50lbs? Averages about 12,000 btu's for 24hrs which equals around 20-21C in the main room with the stove and pleasantly cooler in the bedrooms.
I'm noticing alot of you guys have your temps set lower in the winter than in the summer. Why is that ?We usually set it to 68F in the winter and 78F in the summer if we feel like turning it on. Sometimes we didn't even bother turning it on until below 56F if it wasn't feeling too cold.
Sacrificing a little on comfort for savings on the bill I suppose.I'm noticing alot of you guys have your temps set lower in the winter than in the summer. Why is that ?
Because in the winter it is heater, but in the summer it is AC, human can tolerate a lot as long as humidity is acceptable. I think I only use heater maybe 2 weeks out of the whole year and AC about 5 months about every 3 or 4 days.I'm noticing alot of you guys have your temps set lower in the winter than in the summer. 1st reason: my wife and I are opposite, I want it warm she wants it cool, we fight for the middle ground. She’s complains our bedroom is too hot if I set it to 70F, I complain it’s too cold at 67.I'm noticing alot of you guys have your temps set lower in the winter than in the summer. Why is that ?
