Greetings;

I currently use the 14006 pure one oil filter for my 03 chevy burb 5.3 v8 327 4WD. Does anyone know of the extended version within the pure one family of this very same filter. I have the ability to install an extended and or longer filter, without any interference and or complication. Also what is the micron and flow ratings for the Pure One 14006? I have used the K&N, Mobil 1, and Amsoil. I like the filtration of purolators products for the money. Would you say that they fair better than even a decent Motorcraft filter? I use those for my Ford Trucks. What say you/ Thank you in advance!

Best Regards

Wix 51045 is a good number, it is 4.8" long. Its Purolator number is L20123.
Another good one is Wix 51522, it is 4.5" long. Purolator number is L25288.
I dont know if there is a Pureone number for either of these. I didnt look. One of them should work, though.

If the 14006 flows well enough for a Vette, it should be just fine for a Suburban.

No use going longer from the test data I see from Purolator.

Thanks guys!! I really appreciate the responses, and feed back, and from from veteran board members! These filters are really good, I brought two pure one filters for the price of one mobil 1 and or K&N, or even Amsoil for that matter.

All the best!

Great question, gulfstream, and I you've gotten some great answers so far.

I've been using the 'extended' versions on my '03 5.3L Chevy for the past 120,000 miles. Filters I've used are:
Wix 51522
Napa Gold 1522
PureOne PL25288
Bosch 3423
Mobil 1 M1-206
AC Delco PF59 (until it was discontinued)

All these would be great choices in your applicaiton. (Note, these longer filters are the ones spec'd for 2002 GM 5.3L engines, but are fine for use in 2003 engines)
