What is a good way to clean this cylinder head?

Is this cleaned up good enough in the exhaust manifold mating area?

Thing is , I , personally have no experience with doing aluminum heads I would be very nervous about damaging it . If it was a cast iron head , I would use a rotary wire brush on an electric drill motor . Or , if I had it , a pneumatic drill .

Make sure the head is FLAT , with in specs . Then get the head CLEAN .

Search youtube for videos on this subject , even if you send it to a machine shop ( which I recommend ) . So you will better know what people are talking about .

So , blown head gasket ? Due to over heating ? If so , what caused the over heating ? Make sure you solve that problem or you will be doing this project all over again .

Best of luck to you , :)

God bless

We had a customer's escort do that on the technicians road test after the lady spent $800 doing brakes and tires etc.

It made a bad noise and engine was gone. It ended up getting scrapped.

Actually everything looks pretty good and flat.
If I had to blame something, I'd say that the head bolt torque needs to be checked periodically, or at least once after installation on these cars. No it's not been overheated.
