I was pressed for time and went to a quick lube who has a good reputation in my neighborhood.

I went with the bulk GTX and a Pronto oil filter.

I know this has been discussed before, but the search engine isn't the greatest: how much better is bottled GTX than the bulk in the gun?

It's for my Saturn Vue 3.6 V6. Sometimes it sees short trips, with an occassional long one. How long should I go?

Thanks.

I doubt its different between the two, not enough to worry about if it is. Check your manual, what does it say for a regular OCI? You're probably safe for at least 5000mi's if you want an actual number.

x2 This is what I would believe.

OP - other threads about this? Really? I would assume GTX is GTX - unless there is a separate MSDS for bulk vs bottled (good luck finding that).

Go with whatever OCI is normal for you.

For a short OCI why would you spend $$ for a UOA ?

The bulk shouldnt be any different than the bottle...

Dont go past 4k just to be safe. Personally been using it in multiple cars and never go past 4.5k on my folk's/friends cars.

In my car I run it for 2.5k , Ido alot of "insane" driving , and lots of less than 10 miles driving in traffic.

Plus at 8 bucks for filter and 5qt blackfriday deals , why not.

You bet! What I find amazing is that people think bulk oil is different than buying quarts and/or 5L jugs. It all comes off the same production line.
