Well, I've seen it all today.

yall really think this mask is going to protect you? like honestly believe that? do you know the particulate size of a virus? how fine does the mask filter to? ever had a though of your own or just what you're told to think?
and if you're wearing a mask, then what are you worried about if i choose not to? you're protected right?

you can not force me to wear a mask, the stores who require it will only fall victim to amazon, if i'm not allowed to shop in your store, i'll order it online. and you shouldn't complain about declining sales to online merchants.

You are obviously not experienced or educated enough to make these decisions.
.
That's why the Gov't and CDC provides guidelines for Lay persons.

The virus is transmitted in relatively large fluid particles like water vapour or spittle.

The mask stops MOST of that from coming out of YOUR mouth and broadcast into the environment.

The mask is not to filter out Aerosols already in the air.

You wearing a mask Protects ME from YOU.

Actually i'm going to go to Gilbert today, hope to see you around. So if you're wearing a mask, aren't you protecting yourself? As for my decisions, i'm able to make them for myself., and no on, NO ONE can tell me what to do. they can try, but i'm not going to listen. you included.

Actually this is a pretty good article about how the virus spreads. Lots of misinformation in the last couple posts. Basically the mask is to protect other people from getting the virus. You begin spreading the virus two days before you have symptoms. Some people are asymptomatic and spreading it for weeks. Stores have the right to require masks just like they require shirts, shoes, etc. Same deal, public health requirements. Or they retain the right not to serve anyone. You have a right not to wear them, the store has a right to keep out whoever they like. Also the point of washing your hands and not touching eyes/nose/mouth is because of surface contamination. There's several cases where they couldn't determine how they got the infection so surface contamination is the theory.

Some mask is still better than no mask if a person coughs outward. Not about you as much as others.

I wear one because my wife has been exposed apparently 4 times over at work now working directly with patients with paper medical mask only but no symptoms. Prefer not to pass onto some poor soul.

I say the risk is zero for all practical purposes.

There are other absolute high risk surface transmission models that are NOT addressed.

People touching product. People touching baskets. People touching Card reader screens,

Surfaces are not clean enough to "catch and contain" the 2/10,000 visitor contaminating surfaces.
Even though surface contamination is an HIGHLY unlikely transmission method. of this sticky, fragile, 6-nanometer protein-capsuled RNA strand. Comparable to the age-old "getting pregnant from a Toilet seat" bologna.

1/2 of shoppers NOT wearing masks and yapping away like a bunch of chickens as women do

I do not have SARS-CoV-2, and neither does my bag.

I bag my own at self check out.

Ban Non-mask wearers. Aerosol is 99%+ of transmission method.

Get tough or forget ANY prophylaxis.

Enough Silliness and Stupidity.

As mentioned earlier, you don't know if you have the virus as you can transmit it 2 days before symptoms show or you may be asymptomatic. Fomite transmission is a concern by the CDC and WHO and there are many other articles about it. I'm not sure you can actually cite anything that says 99% unlikely from fomite transmission. You are right about all those other methods, which is why there's a need to use hand sanitizer right after visiting the store. But it's not an all or nothing approach, even if attempts are not 100% it's still better than nothing and some attempt at education is better than none even if it doesn't take. The lowly educated is still a valid survey group!

Wear a mask if around people out in society ... show others that you respect the guidelines, and yes it's better than nothing and has been shown to help reduce the spread. It's not going to kill anyone to wear a freaking mask.

The CDC now says that it does not spread easily through contaminated surfaces

While it's not a main transmission method, it's still one possible method. That's why they still recommend using hand sanitizer and washing hands frequently. Not a lot of cases that confirm it, but they basically say it's possible.

The amount of face masks out there is crazy ... you can find all kinds of cool ones, so have fun with it instead of getting all bent out of shape about wearing a face mask in public.
