Quaker State Synthetic

But if it were between ST and the Wolf's Head synthetic I'd go with the Wolf's Head hands down. Good oil (at least I know the dino is).

AH, you didn't grow up in North West Pennsylvania a long time ago. It is one of a number of small companies dating back to when Pennsylvania was the center of the oil industry. Amilie, that now owns it, may be the last of the independent brands. The big ones, Pennzoil and Quakers State are owned by Shell, Kendall by Conoco Phillips. I think I have seen it around, but not recently. Maybe the next time I am back visiting family or roaming the wilds of Kennerdell, I will look for it, Kendall, and Brad-Penn.

Recently I decided to switch from Pennzoil YB to a full synthetic from an American owned company. Since price and availability, were important, I went to Wal*Mart and bought Mobil 1.

I wonder whether ST Synthetic is indeed synthetic - for all we know, it's just slightly more refined dino with no net benefit to anyone
