2.5 engine IIRC, and the 2.0 + diesels

That's MKV.... but... the New Beetle (on the MK4 chassis) did get the 2.5L engine as an overlap with the MKV area.

My grandparents had a mkiv beetle. The plastic fenders exploded in the sun, the injection pump always leaked (it was also a TDI) my cousins trashed the clutch, and there wasn't much room in that engine bay. Other than that it was a fine car
