I just got a 1949 Plymouth a few months ago with Uniroyal white wall tires on it. I think they also say Steel belted radial. I'm trying to figure out what year or around what year they are. The width of the white wall seems to be about an inch and I think that didn't start happening until 1962? The DOT is hard to read on camera but it is:
APHF DHX 1193

Seems to me that 1193 is the date code, it would be the 11th week of 1993 as the date of manufacture.

Yup, 1993, 1983, or 1973! Tell us what the model tire it is. It's a Uniroyal but the rest of the tire name might help. What size?
It says Steel Belted Radial on the side. It also says P215/75R15.
Also there is a safety warning label and something else that says TPC Spec. No. 1034.
I measured the width of the white wall and it seems to be 1 1/4 inches.
I'm guessing it's from 1983? I was reading a article on the Coker tire website and they were saying tires made after 1976 started having the safety warning labels which this one does.

I agree - 1983.

If it was 1973, it would likely be a alpha numeric. F78-15 or similar.

The TPC number is only 10 more than the original SRTT. I don't think the SRTT was invented in 1973, but by 1983 it would have been.

So why not 1993? The TPC number would likely be higher. I also think GM was done with their specifying the tread pattern by 1993. (That's what I think the "Steel Belted Radial" name means.)

Cool thanks for the info.
