Trans Fluid Drain- 2010 GM 6 speed in Traverse

At 50,400.
Drained the fluid in the Trans.
This is my 2010 Traverse 3.6L with the 6 speed.
Very easy to drain this trans.
I measured what came out- 4.8 qts. Refilled with 5 qts. (I marked the new bottles full lines and refilled to this point).

I had been having no issues.
But I Live in Los Angeles and get stuck in stop and go freeway traffic every day.

I also did a comparison of the color of the fluid. New with old. Dont mind the German Shepherd hair-- they always keep me company when I work on the car.

Color is not a good indicator of the condition of your ATF, unless it looks like driveway sealer. Only a UOA can tell for sure.

As easy as it is to change out. One would think it would be a normal maintenance item every 30k miles or so. Fluid is inexpensive compared to these new 6sp transmissions.

How is this transmission refilled? Is there a dipstick?

Yes good job. You only have to do that 2 more times and the tranny is set for life

Yes there is a dipstick.
The cap is pretty big.
